While the health and flexibility benefits of yoga are well-known, people who are very stiff often find themselves unwilling to start a practice alongside other more flexible or experienced students. This class is designed specifically for first-timers or "lapsed yogis" who regularly experience stiffness.
If you wake up with morning stiffness, are recovering from illness or injury, or have difficulty moving the way you used to, this class will help you recover lost flexibility, vitality, and ease of movement and acquaint or reacquaint you with regular yoga practice.
These sessions are appropriate for all students at all levels.
About Kelly Western
Kelly Western trained at the Shoshoni school of yoga, an ashram in Rollingsville, Colorado, and has been teaching Hatha Vinyasa yoga since 2007. In 2008 she opened Yoga Off Broadway, a quaint studio in the tiny town of Eagle Colorado whose mission to make everyone welcome created a community where people felt like the studio was their second home. Four and a half years later, the studio is still going strong.
A former Milton Academy chemistry teacher, she has a deep interest in the physiology of the human body. Through both study and first-hand experience, she has learned how yoga, meditation, and a healthy diet can help alleviate pain and many of the chronic diseases so prevalent in our society. Her programs are designed to share the benefits of this knowledge through practices that easily lend themselves to today's lifestyles.
Recently relocated to be closer to her New England family, she is now expanding her yoga offerings and is excited to bring them to more people. Yoga Now is delighted to join Kelly in offering Yoga for Stiff People.
